Both the girls and boys major league teams won the District 38 tournaments recently to qualify for this weekend's sectional competitions, both in Lubbock.

The Post boys all-star baseball team takes the field at 6:00 pm, Friday, July 8th, against Midland West in the opening round.  The boys tournament will be at Maxey Park at 26th Street and Nashville.  If Post wins the first game they'll play Pecos Saturday at 8:00 pm.  If they lose, they won't play until Sunday at 6:00 pm.

The girls softball all-stars are scheduled to play their first game at 8:00 Friday night against a Lubbock team from District 2.  The location for the girls tournament is the Lubbock Sports Complex on FM 1585 at Milwaulkee Avenue. If they win they'll play Saturday at 6:00 pm and if they lose they will play Sunday at 8:00 pm.

Even though it's over a month away, both teams are striving for the International Tournament of the official Little League organization of Williamsport, Pennsylavania, the site of the boys baseball world series.  The girls Little League Softball World Series will be held in Portland, Oregon this year.  Both world series events will be held in mid-to-late August.

The Garza Post wishes both teams success and fun in the sectional tourneys in Lubbock this weekend.
