Antelopes' Stats Reflect Season
10 Game Season Results

As the Post Bold Gold Antelopes prepare for the Area playoff game this Friday against the Sonora Broncos at Clyde's Bulldog Stadium, we'll take time to review the season statistics of the team and the individual players.
It is one of the best seasons for Post in recent history and the first district championship since 2004 when the Lopes finished the regular season 8-2, district with a 7-0 record and finished the playoff season losing in the Area playoff completing the season 9-3.
This season's team goes into this week's game with a 9-1 record. Post completed the regular season by being the second highest point producer of District 2-2A, Division II teams with 327 season points behind Tulia's 400. On defense the Lopes placed second of district foes allowing only 209 points scored. Abernathy gave up only 84 over the ten games schedule, 21 of those to the Bold Gold in the district championship.
Post junior tail back D.J. Brown raced to 1641 yards and 18 touchdowns through the Abernathy game. The regions leading 2A rusher has a 9.4 average gain per carry. When sophomore powerback Bryan Smith wasn't blocking for Brown, he ran with the ball to 796 yards and ten touchdowns. Then there's the Lope's third of the triple threat ground attack, junior quarterback Pake Jones who rushed 84 times so far this season for 427 yards.
Post tried to pass only 63 times in the first ten games completing 31 of them. Jones threw for 591 yards and eight touchdowns. Senior Dalton Holly was the primary target catching 16 passes for 341 yards and three TDs. Holly added one TD on seven carries for 113 yards.
On the other side of the ball, Smith, Alan Alaniz, Alejo Rodriguez and Nathan Gill did most of the wrapping-up recording 94, 93, 90 and 88 tackles respectively. Gill was the outright leader with quarterback sacks with eight in the first ten games.
In the steals category, both Brown and Holly intercepted three passes each. Both Campbell Kirkpatrick and Dylan Pearson had 2 picks and Austin Garza caught one.
