CPOA Rattlesnake Rodeo Set for Thursday
Public Invited to Family Event

The Caprock Peace Officers’ Association (CPOA) will hold the 64th Annual Rattlesnake Rodeo on Thursday, May 10 at the 4-H barn in Clairemont, just 40 miles east of Post on US Highway 380.
The family oriented event begins at 9:00 a.m. with registration and includes shooting, horseshoe pitching, a chuck wagon lunch and door prizes including a Marlin 17HMR varmint rifle. Entry fee events on the agenda are the tactical skills challenge, trap shoot, horseshoe pitching and the P.C.C. jackpot shoot.
Raffle tickets will be sold for $2 each or three for $5 for a chance to win a Remington 870 Express 20 gauge shotgun.
A portion of the proceeds will go toward the CPOA scholarship fund which provides financial assistance to a select graduating senior from the Caprock area advancing into a college education.
Members of the rodeo committee from Garza County are retired Game Warden Benjie Smith, DPS Trooper Bo Brown and Game Warden Drew Spencer.
