Dewhurst and Springer Win Garza County

Voter turnout for the Primary Run Off Election in Gara County totaled 323 (11% of registered voters).  In the State Representative District 68 Republican race, local voters chose Drew Springer (55%) over Trent McKnight (45%).

In the Republican Primary run off for U. S. Senate to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison who is retiring, David Dewhurst won Garza County with 165 votes (51%) vs Ted Cruz 158 (49%). 

Other Republican run-off results for Garza County are:  Railroad Commissioner - Christi Craddock (55%) over Warren Chisum (45%); Railroad Commissioner (Unexpired Term) - Barry Smitherman (76%), Greg Parker (24%); Justice Supreme Court, Place 4 - Daavid Medina (53%), John Devine (47%).

In the Democratic run-off for U.S. Senate, 8 Garza County votes were cast giving 50% each to Grady Yarbrough and Paul Sadler.
