Virginia "Ginger" Carlisle

Memorial services for Virginia "Ginger" Carlisle will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Koch officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery will be at 1 p.m. under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.  Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4th.

Ginger was born November 5, 1936 in Ft. Worth, Tx. She died at her home in Post on January 3, 2012. She grew up in Spur where she graduated from high school and later met and married the love of her life. Kent Carlisle. They moved their family to Post in 1967 when she was hired to work for the Bryan Williams & Son Insurance Agency. When she retired after more than 30 years in the insurance business, she devoted her time to serving grieving families through the bereavement ministry of the First Baptist Church, camping and playing "42" every chance she got.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kent of Post; three daughters: Tonya Rudd and her husband Delbert of Post, Stacy Braswell of White River Lake and Kimberly Greer and her husband Curt of Post; one brother: Joe Hord and his wife Charlotte of Killeen; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Devotie and Josephine Hord and by a great
granddaughter, Josie Aldrich.

Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law Delbert Rudd and Curt Greer, her grandsons Shane Mathews and Landon Greer and her grandsons-in-law Rafael Aldrich and Michael Franks.

Ginger requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Post Building Fund.
