The Post Community High School Youth group attended a free presentation of the movie "Courageous" Wednesday at the Tower Theater.
The movie, according to the movies web site, is about "four men with one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers they are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous."
The group meets most Wednesdays at the First United Methodist Church at 6:45 to eat and then for instruction at 7:00 p.m.
Adult leaders of the group of about 50 Post teens are Perry Smith and Drew and Tonya Kirkpatrick.
On occasion the Post Community High School Youth have an outing. The next scheduled event is a concert in Lubbock on Saturday, February 18th at the United Spirit Arena. The Rock and Worship Roadshow 2012 will feature Mercy Me, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, Hawk Nelson, Disciple, and Sidewalk Prophets. The concert headliner Mercy Me is best known for their 2001 crossover hit "I Can Only Imagine".
Group organizer Drew Kirkpatrick explained that they "would love to have any other high school youth join us". For details call Drew at 787-1617, Tonya at 787-1547 or Perry at 241-8061.
