Each month during the school year, the Post Rotary Club invites Post ISD students who are approaching graduation to attend the Tuesday lunch meetings to see what Rotary is all about and to qualify for a college scholarship.

Two Post Lady Lopes were invited and attended meetings through the month of March.  Here's a little bit about them.

Madison Nicole Cash is the daughter of Rex and Terri Cash.  She has participated in basketball, track, cross country, golf, cheer leading, student council, class representative, yearbook and 4-H photography.

Her special interests off campus include the Methodist Community Youth Group, reading, scrap booking, baking and working at the family ranch.

Madison was academic all-district golf, basketball, track and was awarded a scholarship from the Post Lions club.

She plans to attend Texas Tech University and major in Sports and Exercise Science then achieve a degree in occupational therapy.  Madison explained the reason for becoming an occupational therapist: "I love to spend time with my friend Bobbie who is a special needs kid at school."

Skylar Jones is the daughter of Greg and Channa Jones.  She has been involved in basketball, track, cross country, yearbook, student council, class representative, 4-H Club president, stock show, photography, veterinary science, food and nutrition, baseball manager and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Her special activities away from school include singing, wake boarding, scrap booking, Methodist Community Youth Group, spending time with  family and friends, working out, baby sitting and spreading God's Word.

After graduation, Skylar wants to attend McMurray University and major in nursing.

Awards and honors she has received are All-district honorable mention and Academic All-district basketball, the All-tournament basketball team at the Slaton Tournament, 4-H Gold State Award, state photography, grand and reserve grand champion steer in the Garza County Jr. Livestock Show and reserve breed steer in Ft. Worth.

Skylar says "my passion is helping people and the nursing field would assist me in achieving that goal.  I also have a passion for spreading the Word of God.  So, by attending a church sponsored university, I will have the opportunities to have a closer walk with the Lord."
