Varsity Hosts Rival Slaton for First Home Game on Friday

Plan to be at the Redman Friday night by 7:30 to be part of the Bold Gold's welcome home party as they take on the Slaton Tigers for the first home game of the season. 

The Lopes go into the pre-district game 1-1 after outlasting Lamesa, 14-7 there last week.  (Click here for the Lamesa story.)

Slaton enters week 2 also with a 1-1 record after dropping a game to Abernathy last Friday, 42-13.

The Junior High (7th and 8th grade teams) play their first games of the season Thursday at home.  The seventh grade begins at 5:00 p.m. and the eighth grade team follows.  The eighth graders come off of an undefeated, 7-0, district championship season.

The Junior Varsity (1-1) travel to Slaton on Thursday for a 6:00 p.m. kick-off.

Expect the Slaton varsity team to feature a spread passing game on offense and a four front, three linebacker defense.
