Community support noteworthy

The Post Animal Refuge Center (PARC) had its second annual rummage sale last Saturday.  The event is a major fundraiser for the local organization.   “We can’t thank the community enough for the continued support they show to our organization,"  said Margie Maestas, one of the founders of PARC.  " We collected items for the sale from all over town the past several months and we had a great crowd of shoppers on Saturday."

Funds from the rummage sale as well as all donations to the organization go directly to the care of animals under the care of PARC.

PARC was begun in 2010 and since its inception has found permanent homes for over 80 animals. “We are very proud of our accomplishments, but there continues to be a need for organizations willing to care for unwanted and abused animals” Maestas continued. “We are always looking for volunteers to help feed, water and socialize the animals. Good foster homes are also needed. We currently have 10 dogs at the shelter with an additional 8 animals in foster care.”

Post Animal Refuge Center is a 501 (c) 3 organization and accepts tax deductible donations at P. O. Box 13, Post, TX 79356 or on line at
