Post Homecoming this Friday

BBQ meal & other events

Published Sept. 27, 2011 @ 9:39 p.m.

Of course the football game against the Anson Tigers and the Post Bold Gold takes center stage this Friday night at 7:30 at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium.  But it's the special events that make it homecoming.

Here's what's going on in addition to the game:

The brisket dinner to benefit the Pride of Post marching band will be served from 4:40 to 7:00 p.m on Friday at the Post ISD cafeteria.  It includes a chopped brisket sandwich with trimmings, chips, a drink, and a dessert for only $6.00.  You can dine-in or carry-out.  Tickets are on sale now and are available from any band member.  Or call, Brandy at 495-2828, Janeece at 632-5239, Marci at 781-3247 or Tammy at 777-3442 to get your tickets.  Also, you can pay at the door.  Any donations are welcome anytime to support the Pride of Post marching band.

After the band performs during half time, the homecoming queen and the band sweetheart will be announced.  The candidates for queen are Skylar Jones, Shirley Araiza and Kari Dunn.   Band sweetheart nominees are Rebecca Fannon, Nichole Ramirez and Amanda Duran.

Leading up to the game throughout the week, the student body planned to participate in fun activities while at school:  Monday was "Duct tape the Tigers", Tuesday was "Hats off to the Lopes", "Drive'em Crazy Twin Day" was set for Wednesday, "Antelopes are my Heroes" for Thursday and "Dress to Impress" will close out the week.  A reminder to wear your best to the game.

Still the cherry on top of homecoming will be a Bold Gold victory to close the week.  Go Lopes!
