Children’s Author to Read at Local Book Store

Children’s author, Sue Swinson will read her recently released book, “The Butterfly Christmas” at Ruby Lane Books, Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.  She will be at the book store until 3 p.m. to sign copies of the book.

“While it may seem early for a Christmas story, the thoughtfulness and compassion in Sue’s book is delightful any time of year,” said Rosa Latimer, owner of Ruby Lane Books.  “And it isn’t too early to start choosing special, meaningful Christmas gifts.  I can see this book becoming a family Christmas tradition.”

The 38-page book has beautiful full-color illustrations by Linda Shaw who has illustrated a number of children’s books.

Swinson created her first stories and poems to entertain her own children and has beautifully translated that experience into this story.  She recently retired from many years of teaching piano to children and was formerly a school librarian.
