Antelopes Get Area Recognition

Week 8 of the football season was a good one for a couple of Bold Gold Antelopes.  After suffering a loss to Stanton, 45-20, the individual performances of senior Matt Soto and sophomore D.J. Brown got the attention of the sports reporting staff of the Lubbock Avalanche Journal and its sports website LoneStarVarsity.com.

Both Post players were listed among fifteen 2-A players on the South Plains to experience outstanding perfomances in last weeks games.  As reported on LoneStarVarsity.com:

Matt Soto, RB, Post, 5-11, 187, Sr.: Rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown in a 45-20 loss to Stanton.

D.J. Brown, RB, Post, 5-6, 140, Soph.: Rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown and 120 yards in kick returns in a 45-20 loss to Stanton.

The backfield duo will lead their team in the final game of the 2011 season against Hawley, Friday, 7:30 at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium.
