Volleyball Win Streak Continues

Senior Shirley Araiza Recognized

Published Oct. 20, 2011 @ 6:02 p.m.

Before the high school Lady Lopes proceeded to defeat the seventh opponent in a row, the home crowd witnessed the first Post senior volleyball player to participate in a Senior Night at the high school gym on Tuesday.

Shirley Araiza is the only 12th grade player on the 2011 JV volleyball team in the programs inaugural practice season.  Although sad for Araiza, the good news is that all the other players will return in 2012, the schools first season as a member of a district with the possibility to advance to the playoffs.

Shirley, accompanied by her mother Maria, was presented a bouquet of roses from Head Coach Charlyn Hohman.

The Lady Lopes won the match in three games against Plains.

The girls continue play Monday, October 24 here against the Lubbock Titans at 5:00 p.m. in the high school gym.
