Close City Farmers Show Tractors
South Plains Antique Tractor and Engine Show

LUBBOCK - Farmers from the Close City community participated in the 9th Annual South Plains Antique Tractor and Engine Show at the American Museum of Agriculture located at East Broadway & Canyon Lakes Drive. The show, held on October 15th and 16th, is hosted by the South Plains Antique Tractor Association.
Exhibitors traveled from Kansas, Texas, and New Mexico to participate in the show. This year there were 106 tractors, 3 cars, 24 engines, 6 lawn & garden tractors, 1 trailer and 1 planter.
Tino Alaniz entered his 1956 John Deere 720, G.B. Wilkie a 1957 John Deere 720 and Jim Ellis showed his 1955 Ford.
The annual show included parades, tractor games, demonstrations, children's games, fellowship, and a worship service on Sunday. Bake sale items, crafts and memorabilia were available from vender booths.
