Local Audio Tour Guides Visitors to Historical Sites

Published June 30, 2011 @ 4:14 p.m.

You may have noticed some striking signs in town designating historical buildings as part of the “Dial Up History” audio tour.  The signs instruct visitors how to use their cell phone to “dial up” historical information and interesting facts about historical sites in Post and Garza County.

The Collier Drug building on East Main is one of the historical sites included in the audio tour sponsored by the Caprock Cultural Association.  Other sites currently included in the audio tour are the Algerita Hotel building, the Heritage House, the Santa Fe Depot, and the Garza County Courthouse and Centennial Plaza.

The tulip design logo on the Dial Up History signs was inspired by the stained glass front door windows of the C.W. Post home on West Main in Post.  The Post home will be added to the tour soon.

If you are interested in adding a local historic site on the audio tour, call the Caprock Cultural Association for more information, 806-495-4148.
