Bold Gold Look to Rebound against Lamesa
JV here Thursday, Varsity there Friday

The Post varsity football team is on the road for the second consecutive week this time in Lamesa to take on the District 2-3A Golden Tornadoes, Friday at 7:30 p.m for a pre-district game.
Last season, even though the Lopes lost 33-7, they were in the game until the third quarter when fumbles became the norm.
Last week Lamesa (1-0) defeated Denver City, 12-9 in their season opener.
According to new head coach Steve Smith the Antelopes "have to play the game fundamentally better. We must do the little things right and eliminate turnovers." Four Post turnovers gave the game to the Roughnecks at Sundown last Friday, 50-8.
The Golden Tors' finished 4-6 overall and 1-4 in district play in 2010.
"Lamesa is an improving club and they will be a big challenge for us. What we need to do is to concentrate on our own play," said Coach Smith. Back-up players will have the opportunity to get playing time due to a rash of injuries for the Antelopes. Smith added "we need to stay healthy."
Other keys to playing well against Lamesa are ball control and handling the Tornadoes' split back veer offense. "It will be a challenge to stop their power and option game," claimed the coach.
Lamesa sports a roster of experience with ten seniors and fifteen juniors.
The junior varsity teams will play Thursday at 6:00 p.m. here at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium.
