Dig Pink Game to Honor Breast Cancer Survivors

Volleyball Round-up

Published Sept. 28, 2012 @ 7:35 a.m.

The Post volleyball program completed it's first District 4-2A contests of the 2012 season this week and although there wasn't a win recorded, the program showed plenty of promise and look forward to the rest of the season.  See the box score results below.

The high school teams will play Friday starting at 3:00 p.m. in the arena and high school gym as they welcome the teams from Denver City.

Looking ahead to Saturday, October 6, Post will host their first ever Dig Pink Game for Breast Cancer awareness.

During the high school games against Colorado City breast cancer survivors will be honored.  Head Coach Charlyn Hohman has invited "all survivors to come to the game to be honored on the court."  She is asking for your help to spread the word.  "If anyone knows of any survivors in the Post area, please send me their contact info so I can invite them to the event.  I would greatly appreciate it."  Hohman can be emailed at chohman@postisd.net.

The Freshman team will kick off the morning playing against Colorado City at 11am and the JV will follow.
The ceremony will be between the JV & Varsity games. The survivors ceremony is expected to start around 12:45 p.m.  All activities that day will be at the Antelope Arena.

The Dig Pink volleyball event hopes to draw a large crowd.  Many items will be available for purchase/donation that day to raise money for those currently fighting breast cancer.  Many people have contributed in great ways to make this event happen. The volleyball girls will be decked out in PINK!!

8th Grade vs. Denver City, 9/24/12

Coach Kylee Ford - The 8th grade A team lost in a heartbreaking 3 set battle.  They worked so hard and played with every ounce of effort they possessed.   Unfortunately, the result was not in our favor.  Regardless, I am excited to see how we move forward from here, having seen how much these girls will fight for a victory.

The B team showed much improvement in serving and passing.  I was really proud of how they played as a team.
