Chilly Football Weather Expected Friday

Week 8 football preview

Friday night the Bold Gold Antelopes, 2-0 in district, face District 2-2, Division II foe the Floydada Whirlwinds (1-1) with kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. here at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium. Both teams are fighting for life after district just over three weeks from now.

The Lopes are tied for first place with Abernathy and the Winds are tied for second with Roosevelt.  Floydada was unable to score against Abernathy losing 41-0 as Post won a close game with Tulia 45-41.  Floydada averages 28 points a game and Post 34.

Thursday evening the JV Lopes will travel to Floydada for a 6:00 p.m. game.  The junior high teams are at home with the "Fun Bunch" B-team playing at 4:30 p.m. followed by the 7th and 8th grade teams here against Floydada.  

The weather forecast for the game is much cooler with a kick off temp of about 45 degrees.

Other Friday district action puts Abernathy (2-0) at Olton (0-2) and Tulia (0-2) at Roosevelt (1-1).
