Early Voting for General & Bond Elections

Election Day is just over two weeks away and the early voting period in the upcoming presidential General Election and the Post Independent School District's bond election is Monday, October 22 through Friday, November 2.
According to information provided by the District & County Clerk's office, the county courthouse will serve as the polling place for both elections over the two weeks of Early Voting. The polling location will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, including the lunch hour.
Sample ballots for both elections can be viewed and printed from the Garza County web site.
It should be noted that there will not be any voting at the Post ISD Administration Building, the usual voting place for the school district's elections.
Applications to vote by mail are being accepted until Tuesday, October 30. The application must be received (not postmarked) by the Early Voting clerk before the close of regular business. Contact the clerk's office for details at 495-4430. All applications must be mailed and not hand delivered. The reasons for voting by mail include:
• 65 years of age or older;
• Disability;
• Expected absence from the county; or
• Confinement in jail
Election Day is November 6, 2012. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
