8 Lopes Listed on A-J Honor Roll

Post Coaches Name Players of the Week

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal released it's weekly honor roll of area football players who excelled in the previous game.  Eight Post Antelopes are on the list of 2A players who had impressive stats in last week's win over District 2-2A, Division II opponent Lubbock Roosevelt.  Here's are the Lopes as listed on the A-J's LoneStarVarsity.com:

D.J. Brown, RB, Post, 5-6, 140, Jr.: Rushed for 241 yards and two touchdowns, had eight tackles and a fumble recovery in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Bryan Smith, RB/LB, Post, 6-0, 185, Soph.: Rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, had 18 tackles, one tackle for a loss and a pass breakup in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Alan Alaniz, LB, Post, 6-3, 155, Jr.: Had 15 tackles in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Paden Babb, LB, Post, 5-11, 180, Jr.: Had 10 tackles, one tackle for a loss and a touchdown catch in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Alejo Rodriguez, LB, Post, 5-8, 165, Soph.: Had 13 tackles in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Nathan Gill, DE, Post, 6-0, 191, Sr.: Recorded nine tackles in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Caden Dean, LB, Post, 5-9, 170, Sr.: Had eight tackles and two tackles for losses in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Dalton Holly, S, Post, 5-10, 155, Sr.: Had eight tackles, caused a fumble, an interception and a pass breakup in a 48-33 win over Roosevelt.

Based on their performances in the district opener, the following players were recognized by the Post coaching staff:

Offensive - DJ Brown

Defensive - Alan Alaniz

Bold Gold Player - Bryan Smith
