Lopes Play at Wood Bat Classic

SWEETWATER - The Wood Bat Classic at Sportman's Field at Newman Park, is a baseball tournament where the batters must use the "old timey" bats made of tree stock. No aluminum permitted.
Luckily the host team, the Mustangs, provided the lumber because the Bold Gold Antelopes and the other teams cracked a few bats over the three day round-robin tourney.
Post played four games, two Thursday and two Friday, and left with one win and three losses. And the one win, which was the second game on Thursday, was a true come from behind victory for the Lopes.
The Antelopes pulled off an amazing rally to beat Clyde 17-13 after trailing 12-2 at one point early in the game. The other games were: San Angelo Lake View 9, Post 2; Ranger Junior College JV 13, Post 0; and Sweetwater 14, Post 0.
