Dorace V. Wilson, 1922 - 2012

Post - Dorace V. Wilson went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday, June 10, 2012. She was born August 11, 1922 in Arkansas to Willie and Era (Jones) Howard. They moved to Bryson, Texas where Dorace attended school and graduated from Bryson High School.

December 15, 1938 she married C.R. Wilson at Graham. After their marriage they made their home at Bryson. C.R. preceded her in death January 1, 1989. They came to Post in 1946 and in 1948 opened Wilson Brother’s Service Station and Garage, which they operated until their retirement in 1980. Dorace worked for Post ISD in the administrative office for several years. Due to health she moved to Castroville and lived at Medina Valley Health and Rehab facility there. She returned to Post in February of this year.

Dorace was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lucille Anderson and Marie Askins.
She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church where she taught the children’s Sunday School Class, member of the Eastern Star, Women’s Culture Club and served as Chairperson of the Post Stampede Rodeo Parade Committee.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Post. Grandsons Rev. Will Wilson, Brandon Wilson and Blythe Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Terrace Cemetery under the personal care of Dee and Janet Justice, Justice-Mason Funeral Home, Post.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Wilson, Blythe Wilson, Will Wilson, Jr., Lex Dunn, Matt Zuck, Bill Gale, Ted Williams and Don Jackson.

Survivors include one son, William C. ‘Butch’ Wilson, M.D. and his wife Freddi of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: one daughter, Juanita A. ‘Nita’ Jackson and her husband Don of Bradford, N.H., seven grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson Basinger of Castroville; Monica Bouchier Zuck and husband Matt of Alameda, California; Rachel Wilson Dunn and husband Lex of Lubbock; Brandon Williams Wilson and wife Becky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Michelle Bouchier Gale and husband Bill of Falls Church, Virginia; Vincent Blythe Wilson and his wife Casey of Purcell, Oklahoma and William Charles Wilson, Jr. and his wife Leigh of Shawnee, Oklahoma and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, W.E. ‘Bill’ Howard of Marble Falls, Texas and A.R. Howard, M.D. and wife Nancy of Lubbock. Special friends are the Staff and Residents of the Golden Plains Care Center, Post.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Post or to a favorite Charity. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
