Brazos Steakhouse Opens in Post

Published Aug. 11, 2012 @ 12:40 p.m.

The Post Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cuttting recently to commemorate the Grand Opening of the Brazos River Steakhouse, 206 E. Main St. in Post.  According to Jesse Hernandez, General Manager of the restaurant, the menu offers pasta, seafood, sandwiches, salads and, of course, steaks with prices beginning at $7.

Owners of the steakhouse are Joe and Michelle Moore.  The Moores have worked for several months to reveal historic aspects of the building that was once occupied by Cocarras Diner.  Touches of brass were uncovered and the original freight elevator has been preserved.  Crisp white table covers, oversized vintage photos and creative lighting provide a comfortable, pleasing atmosphere for lunch or dinner.

Chef Bud Andersen of Amarillo has served as a consultant to help develop the restaurant menu and train the cook staff.  Andersen also supervised preparation of food served to the KCBD television crew during their recent visit to Post.

Restaurant hours are Monday - Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  For more information, call 806-778-6690.  A partial menu is available at Brazos River Steakhouse on Facebook.
