Post Teams Having a Winning Week

Basketball Round-up

Published Nov. 30, 2011 @ 12:35 p.m.

Post ISD basketball teams resumed play following the Thanksgiving break with great success winning eight of eleven games played so far this week.

Most of the teams played except for the varsity and junior varsity boys.  The Lopes were scheduled to play at Crosbyton this past Tuesday, but due to the Chiefs' exit from the football playoffs just last Friday, they were not prepared to hit the hard wood against Post.

Meanwhile, the Lady Lopes did travel and play at Crosbyton as both Post teams performed well.  The varsity kept the game close throughout the contest playing to a 50-47 one shot loss.  The JV started with and maintained a comfortable lead winning 33-21.

Starting Thursday, many of the Post basketball teams are involved in weekend tournaments:  The varsity teams are in Roby, the JV teams go to Ackerly for the Sands Tourney and the 8th grade girls are close to home at Slaton.
