Candidate Filing for March Primary Begins Nov. 28

Filing period ends Dec. 15

Local candidates can begin filing for a place in the March Primary Monday, Nov. 28.  The last day to file is Dec. 15, 201 by 6:00 p.m. 

Local candidates should file with the chair of the party of your choice:  
Democratic Party County Chair - Bebe Boren, (806) 629-4475, beberjim@yahoo.com
Republican Party County Chair - Trevor Thuett, (806) 777-8388, trevorlthuett@gmail.com

The following local offices will be on the March Primary ballot:  District Attorney 106th District, Garza County Attorney, Garza County Sheriff, Garza County Tax-Assessor; Garza County Commissioners Precincts 1 and 3; Garza County Constables 1 and 2.

Several prospective candidates recently attended a seminar to learn basic information concerning qualifications for office and other information pertaining to the primary election in March.  The seminar was co-sponsored by the District/County Clerk's Office, the Garza County Democratic Party and the Garza County Republican Party.

Those considering running for office should make note of some minor changes in the county precincts during to recent redistricting.  Current information is available at the Garza County District/County Clerk's office.
