HS Football Playoffs Continue

The Texas high school football playoff season is in week two, the Area round.
Last Friday here at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium a 1A, Division I Bi-district battle between the Olton Mustangs (7-4) and the Stamford Bulldogs (9-2) went down to the wire with Stamford winning 35-32. The Bulldogs will play Panhandle (8-2) Friday at Brownfield.
Idalou is the only team still playing in Post's 2-2A, Division II district. The Wildcats (9-1) had a bye last week and will play Hamilton (6-5) Friday in Abilene at Wylie's Bulldog Stadium. Hamilton defeated Henrietta, 10-0, to advance to the Area found.
Last week both Coahoma (6-5) and Forsan (7-4) were eliminated. Coahoma lost to Spearman (9-2), 23-20. And Sanford-Fritch (6-5) knocked-off Forsan, 33-26. Spearman is scheduled to play Holliday at Greg Sherwood Memorial Bulldog Stadium, Plainview Friday at 7:30. Sanford-Fritch will play Saturday in Wichita Falls against Cisco (10-0).
Former district foe Abernathy (9-1), champions of District 1-2A, are coming off a bye week and will play Nocona (6-5) Friday at Jim Ned High School. In 2A, Division II, Littlefield (8-3) beat Alpine, 40-33, to advance to play Eastland (10-0) Thursday night in Colorado City.
In six man football, Borden County (10-1) of Division 1 plays Rankin (9-2) Friday at Forsan. The Coyotes won 66-27 last week against Aspermont and Rankin demolished Robert Lee, 64-0 to advance.
