SUNDOWN - The friendly confines of Slaughter Field were not too accommodating to the visiting Antelopes (0-1) as they handed the Sundown Roughnecks (1-0) a season opening win, 50-8, in a pre-district match-up.

The 1A powerhouse took advantage of four Post turnovers and a blocked punt turned into a touchdown to never allow the Lopes into the game.

Just after the strange blocked punt score by the ‘Necks, Post immediately replied with D.J. Brown’s 90 yard kickoff return for the Antelope’s first and only touchdown of the game.

As expected, Sundown’s senior running back Garrett Carter was a strong challenge as he is for all teams.  The 6’ 200 pound Carter put up big numbers with 121 yards on 16 carries averaging 7.5 yards a carry and two touchdowns.

D.J. Brown was voted the Post Insurance "Antelope of the Game" on  Post Sports Radio.
