The Texas Plains Trail Roundup was held in Post on August 15 & 16 and brought 100 out-of-town visitors to town, thanks to the hard work of the Caprock Cultural Association. The conference kicked off on Monday evening with a reception at the Heritage House featuring wagon rides through town which included a hold up by "armed" bandits on horseback. Following the reception everyone was treated to a live concert at the Garza Theatre hosted by Post City Celebrations, Inc. Tuesday's meeting was full of information about tourism and the value it is to our area. It was a great two days. Everyone left Post impressed with our community and all we have to offer.

Poka Lambro is offering another round of free computer classes over the next few weeks. Please call 990-9901 for information and to register for these classes.

Ragtown Gospel Theater is opening "Deacon and the Pharisee" this weekend with performances Friday at 7:30 and Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The next show at the Garza Theatre will be "Godspell" opening on September 9.

The Post Antelopes will be playing football in Sundown this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. If you can't attend the game, go to www.postsportspage.com for a live webcast.

This Saturday evening, Post native David Morrow will present a concert at the First United Methodist Church to honor the 50th anniversary of the Post Art Guild. The concert will be followed by a reception at the Heritage House. Call 495-4148 for information and reservations.

Labor Day weekend will be a great way to end the summer. Post City Trade Day will be downtown from 9-6 on Saturday and the Post Rotary Club is hosting a barbecue cook off on September 2 & 3 at City Park. If you would like to enter, contact Dave Tyler at 786- 5137. On Monday, there is an End of Summer Celebration planned from 10-4 at City Park. The pool will be open and there are lots of activities planned at the park.
